Image-based View Synthesis

چکیده
We present a new method for rendering novel images of exible 3D objects from a small number of example images in correspondence. The strength of the method is the ability to synthesize images whose viewing position is signi cantly far away from the viewing cone of the example images (\view extrapolation"), yet without ever modeling the 3D structure of the scene. The method relies on synthesizing a chain of \trilinear tensors" that governs the warping function from the example images to the novel image, together with a multi-dimensional interpolation function that synthesizes the non-rigid motions of the viewed object from the virtual camera position. We show that two closely spaced example images alone are su cient in practice to synthesize a signi cant viewing cone, thus demonstrating the ability of representing an object by a relatively small number of model images | for the purpose of cheap and fast viewers that can run on standard hardware. Depth Improvement for FTV Systems Based on the Gradual Omission of Outliers
Virtual view synthesis is an essential part of computer vision and 3D applications. A high-quality depth map is the main problem with virtual view synthesis. Because as compared to the color image the resolution of the corresponding depth image is low. In this paper, an efficient and confided method based on the gradual omission of outliers is proposed to compute reliable depth values. In the p...
متن کاملSingle image facial view synthesis using SFS
We present a facial view synthesis technique based on explicit shape and reflectance information extracted from a single image. The technique combines an image based reflectance estimation process with a novel method of interpolating between needle-maps recovered using shape from shading. This allows images of a face to be synthesised under novel lighting, pose and skin reflectance given only o...
متن کاملDepth-Aided Exemplar-Based Disocclusion Filling for DIBR View Synthesis
Depth-image-based-rendering (DIBR) is a popular method of synthesizing new views of scenes using traditional images accompanied by depth maps. However these new view suffer from disocclusion holes ‒ background areas revealed by the viewpoint change which have no image or depth data. The filling of disocclusion holes has been an area of development since 2011. This paper seeks to further develop...

متن کاملA Scalable and Modular Solution for Virtual View Creation in Image-Based Rendering Systems
Image-based rendering systems are designed to render a virtual view of a scene based on a set of images and correspondences between these images. This approach is attractive as it does not require explicit scene reconstruction. In this paper we identify that the level of realism of the virtual view is dependent on the camera set-up and the quality of the image analysis and synthesis processes. ...
متن کاملHigh Quality Novel View Synthesis Based on Low Resolution Depth Image and High Resolution Color Image
In this paper, a new technique to generate high resolution depth image is proposed. First, a low resolution depth map is obtained by the time-of-flight depth camera. Then a high resolution depth map for a given view is generated by depth warping followed by depth value refinement taking into account the color information at the given view. The edge in the final depth map is then processed by bi...
